Zusammenfassung: | This mini review analyzes the reason why many infectious diseases are rarely represented within the overall spectrum of ID in particular regions. The link between behavioral/cultural factors and the religion prevalent in those areas is analyzed. In addition outbreaks of infections in the community, linked to mass religious gatherings (Kumbh Mela, for Hindu, Haj for Muslims, and Urbi et orbi for Christians) is discussed. |
