Zusammenfassung:New straightforward synthesis of benzothiazole‐2‐carboxamides and benzoxazole‐2‐carboxamides from 2‐chloracetamides, 2‐amino(thio)phenols and elemental sulfur has been developed. Main advantage of this protocol is the utilization of water as reaction media, which lead to simple reaction procedure. Also this process is distinguished by good tolerance toward different functional groups. Yields of products is up to 99 %. New method for synthesis of benzothiazole‐2‐carboxamides and benzoxazole‐2‐carboxamides based on cyclocondensation of 2‐chloracetamides and 2‐amino(thio)phenols in presence of elemental sulfur was developed. Wide range of functional groups are tolerated, yields are from good to excellent.
