Zusammenfassung: | Surgical education is affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Strict protocols are applied inside the operating room to prevent further transmission of the virus. As a result, only a limited number of residents and medical students are allowed inside the operating room. The authors propose surgical videos and live broadcasting as an alternative way of learning about surgery. This article shows the utilization of a commonly used technology, such as smartphone and Zoom™, combined with a 3D printed smartphone holster and modified head mount as an educational tool at Plastic Surgery Residency Program, Universitas Indonesia. This innovation turns out to be simple and low cost, yet effective as a method in teaching surgery, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. |
