Zusammenfassung:The author considers the problem of protection of the right to privacy in the activities of the media. It is concluded that the rights to freedom of expression and privacy are recognized as fundamental human rights that do not conflict with each other, but are inalienable, inherent in everyone. In the interests of society, the law provides for cases of restriction of criminal law protection of the right to privacy. A significant difference in the criminal law protection of privacy of citizens and officials has been established. The need for further implementation of the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights into national legislation has been confirmed.
