description Modern humanity faces the problem of survival on Earth. Throughout its existence, human society has pursued consistent activities to create and improve the conditions of its environment. The environment created by man is sometimes harmful to the animals and plants of the planet, and more and more often becomes dangerous, albeit not intentionally, for the person himself: a person, trying to create goods, get them as quickly and cheaply as possible, neglects the interests of the environment in the first place. There comes a moment when it turns out that the air, water, soil are so poisoned that the living of the person himself becomes impossible. Therefore, among the modern problems facing the world community, one stands out - the problem of deterioration in the quality of the external environment. And one of the environmental factors that adversely affect human health is the state of atmospheric air. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the sources and analysis of Cd entering various environmental areas of the transport system, their concentration, as well as to describe the associated effects on human health and to develop recommendations for reducing the exposure to Cd.
