Gamma rays from a 137 Cs radioactive source were first detected directly then through the timing method, and the obtained results were compared. The results showed that used method is considerably successful in increasing the energy resolution of this type detector. So, it is believe that the J-PET detection performance will be able to enhance if the proposed method can be used in its electronics.
