2022 TMS President Jud Ready: TMS is a Place for Firsts

Like Walter Elias Disney achieved in 1955, each of us as scientists and engineers are constantly in pursuit of firsts. And for Ready, TMS has been a place of firsts throughout his career, and he'd be willing to bet it has been--and will continue to be--a place of firsts for you too. TMS is the place where he first stood up in front of a distinguished audience and presented his research, in utter terror the whole time. He was delivering his presentation to a group of his advisor's peers. These were the authors of his textbooks! To those who are considering presenting their work at the next TMS annual meeting for the first time, no need to be scared like him.
