Recently, powdered clays as raw materials for skin treatments such as used for face masks and body masks have been increasingly easy to obtain in the market. However, the product specifications should be clear from the point of view of safety and security for the consumer, especially in terms of the chemical compositions in the clays due to its direct use on human skin. Thus, this paper will discuss about the mineralogical characterizations and chemical compositions of four commercial clay samples that obtained from local marketplace in Indonesia. The result from the XRD and XRF characterization, it was found that there was still impurities in this commercial clay samples. |
