Zusammenfassung: | A pilot study investigated the effect of a series of eight virtual Group Music and Imagery (Grp MI) sessions (35-45 minutes in length) delivered via Zoom (teleconferencing software) with nine healthcare professionals, most of whom were hospital staff from a private hospital in Melbourne. The sessions took place during the second wave of COVID-19 lockdown, August- October 2020, a time of significant stress for all, particularly hospital staff. The purposes of the pilot study were to prevent burnout, enhance morale, and reduce work stress within the context of the pandemic. The pilot study shows the potential of Grp MI in fostering connectedness, seeking personal meanings in ones' occupation, managing work-related anxiety, and cultivating hope during a difficult time. |
