Student difficulties are based on test results and interviews: 1) writing Pythagorean equations based on right triangle images in various contexts; 2) writing cosine equations based on verbal definitions and images; 3) drawing a right triangle based on Pythagoras equation; 4) doing analogical reasoning between Pythagorean theorem and law of cosine; and 5) doing the analogical reasoning based on the theorem. |
