Zusammenfassung:To resolve the short-circuit fault between the long stator slices of the high-speed maglev track, the manifestation of the traveling leakage magnetic field in the presence or absence of the inter-chip short-circuit fault and the interferences in the magnetic field measurement environment were analyzed. According to the self-similarity of traveling leakage magnetic field signals, a new method for detecting short-circuit faults between long stators based on Higuchi fractal dimensions is proposed and simulated. The simulation results showed that this method can better highlight the weak magnetic abnormalities caused by the inter-chip short-circuit fault, and can accurately identify and locate the inter-chip short-circuit fault, under the strong interference of various background noises. •Short-circuit detection method in laminated stator of maglev track is proposed.•Fractal dimension can show leaked traveling wave magnetic field’s self-similarity.•Suspension gap and fault degree have great influence on the detection results.•This detection method is insensitive to background noise.
