The research is based on contemporary published material but predominantly on archival sources deposited in the archives of Charles University in Prague, Masaryk University in Brno, Palacký university in Olomouc, in the archive of Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, in the National Archive and in personal archives of eminent Czechoslovak psychologists (Jiří Hoskovec, Jan Doležal, Robert Konečný, Olga Kolaříková).
