Filho and Piraciaba offer some suggestions to Meyers et al to improve their analysis with regards to their paper Effectiveness of Using Carbon Fiber Grid Systems in Reinforced Two-Way Concrete Slab System. They convey that the number of samples used in the paper is too small to reach an effective conclusion about the study presented. Also, they cite the various research parameters, such as reinforcement geometric ratio of the fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) with different mechanical parameters in the longitudinal and transverse directions, double reinforcement on a slab, and variable reinforcement in two directions, that added burdens in achieving consistent conclusions.
