Study of the influence of power source dynamic properties on the stability of heat and mass transfer at consumable electrode arc welding in a CO2

This paper discusses the results of research on the relationship between the dynamic properties of a power source and the characteristics of heat and mass transfer during arc welding in a CO2 with electrode metal transfer at intervals short circuits of arc gap. It is established that electronic cont...

description This paper discusses the results of research on the relationship between the dynamic properties of a power source and the characteristics of heat and mass transfer during arc welding in a CO2 with electrode metal transfer at intervals short circuits of arc gap. It is established that electronic control of the dynamic characteristic of the power supply, which characterizes the rate of change of instantaneous current values in a welding circuit, determines not only quantitative indicators of heat and mass transfer, but also contributes to increasing stability and reducing heat input to the treated surface. The performed research justifies the need to develop new methods of short-arc welding in the CO2 environment and technical means for their implementation.
