Marc Jimenez remarked that, while we have become relativists in terms of taste, and are therefore conscious of the plurality of cultural systems conditioned by specific historical contexts, we are still prone by distraction, to formulating aesthetic appreciations that call upon “immutable, ahistorical or transhistorical” Platonic beauty.
