description | In engineering applications, material selection is complicated, which deals the mechanical and general properties of materials. Simultaneously the researches on materials are emerging in current days in the perspective of property modifications in the existing materials and / or invention of new materials. In this work deals the numerical study about mechanical properties of various sandwich composites for aerospace applications. Comparatively, numerical simulation based property estimation of sandwich composite is more reliable because of the uniqueness and advanced capabilities involved the numerical simulation. The various major fibers such as carbon, Kevlar and glass fibers based sandwich composites are generated with the inclusion of epoxy resin matrix in ANSYS ACP 16.2, in which ASTM standard provides the dimensional support to the construction of test specimen in ANSYS Design Modeler 16.2. Fine and structural discretized model of the normal test specimen are formed with the help of ANSYS Mesh Tool 16.2 Totally sixteen different models are generated and thereby the structural analyses are compared with the help of ANSYS Static Structural 16.2 under the normal load conditions. |
