PACAP is a stimulator of neurogenic contraction in guinea pig ileum

The myotropic effect of pituitary anedylate cyclase-activating polypeptide, a novel brain-gut peptide with high sequence homology to vasoactive intestinal polypeptide, was examined in the isolated guinea pig ileum in vitro.
