Modeling intermittent digesta flow to calculate glucose uptake capacity of the bovine small intestine

To test the hypothesis that the uptake capacity of the bovine small intestine for glucose is upregulated to match or slightly exceed glucose delivery, glucose was continously infused into the proximal duodenum of four cannulated holstein heifers.
