Interrelationship between colonic muscularis mucosae activity and changes in transmucosal potential difference

This in vitro study investigated the relationship between rabbit colonic muscularis mucosae motor activity and changes in transmucosal potential difference. Spontaneous muscle contractions and potential difference oscillations occurred independently and were not neurally driven.
