Zusammenfassung: | In this study, some attenuation properties of gamma shields were studied. This shields consisting of composite materials of Unsaturated polyester as a base material and bismuth(Bi) but in different size (Bi2O3) and, micro bismuth (Bi) as reinforcement materials at different percentages (1, 3,5,7 and 9)wt%, and with different thickness (1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5 and 4) cm. The results showed that the use of nanoparticles in the field of radiation shielding is better than the microparticales. It has been shown that the values of linear attenuation coefficients in the case of nanoparticles were greater than the attenuation coefficient in the case of the use of micro material. Also, the result show that the half value thickness and the dose rate is less than in the case of nanoparticle. |
