Mechanisms of postabsorptive hyperglycemia in streptozotocin diabetic rats

The data from a study suggest that an impairment in the ability of glucose to regulate peripheral glucose uptake or hepatic glucose output in rodents develops streptozotocin diabetes and contributes to postabsorptive hyperglycemia.
