description | STratifying Resilience and Depression Longitudinally (STRADL) is a population-based study built on the Generation Scotland: Scottish Family Health Study (GS:SFHS) resource. The aim of STRADL is to subtype major depressive disorder (MDD) on the basis of its aetiology, using detailed clinical, cognitive, and brain imaging assessments. The GS:SFHS provides an important opportunity to study complex gene-environment interactions, incorporating linkage to existing datasets and inclusion of early-life variables for two longitudinal birth cohorts. Specifically, data collection in STRADL included: socio-economic and lifestyle variables; physical measures; questionnaire data that assesses resilience, early-life adversity, personality, psychological health, and lifetime history of mood disorder; laboratory samples; cognitive tests; and brain magnetic resonance imaging. Some of the questionnaire and cognitive data were first assessed at the GS:SFHS baseline assessment between 2006-2011, thus providing longitudinal measures of depression and resilience. Similarly, routine NHS data and early-life variables are linked to STRADL data, further providing opportunities for longitudinal analysis. Recruitment has been completed and we consented and tested 1,188 participants. |

<cop>London</cop><pub>Wellcome Trust Limited</pub><doi>10.12688/wellcomeopenres.15538.1</doi><orcidid>https://orcid.org/0000-0002-5555-4129</orcidid><orcidid>https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5150-6624</orcidid><orcidid>https://orcid.org/0000-0002-5313-9845</orcidid><orcidid>https://orcid.org/0000-0002-0893-0902</orcidid><orcidid>https://orcid.org/0000-0003-1249-6106</orcidid><orcidid>https://orcid.org/0000-0002-3823-8052</orcidid><orcidid>https://orcid.org/0000-0001-6963-1335</orcidid><orcidid>https://orcid.org/0000-0003-0198-5078</orcidid><orcidid>https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9822-8753</orcidid><orcidid>https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9812-6642</orcidid><orcidid>https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9811-0210</orcidid><orcidid>https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1688-1653</orcidid><orcidid>https://orcid.org/0000-0001-6467-7449</orcidid><orcidid>https://orcid.org/0000-0002-7884-5877</orcidid><orcidid>https://orcid.org/0000-0002-4618-8729</orcidid><orcidid>https://orcid.org/0000-0001-6226-8270</orcidid><orcidid>https://orcid.org/0000-0002-3599-6018</orcidid><orcidid>https://orcid.org/0000-0003-1264-6979</orcidid><orcidid>https://orcid.org/0000-0002-4505-8869</orcidid><orcidid>https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4915-4847</orcidid><orcidid>https://orcid.org/0000-0002-0198-4588</orcidid><orcidid>https://orcid.org/0000-0002-4049-993X</orcidid><orcidid>https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2444-5675</orcidid><oa>free_for_read</oa></addata></record> |
