LPS pretreatment ameliorates peritonitis-induced myocardial inflammation and dysfuntion: Role of myocytes

Peritonitis induced by cecal ligation and puncture (CLP) produces a systemic inflammatory response that can be largely mitigated by pretreatment of the animals with lipopolysaccharide (LPS tolerance).
