description Operation of the automatic valves has a significant influence on the efficiency and reliability of the reciprocating compressor. The task of valves design and evaluation is to find optimal parameters, which provide minimum pressure loss during gas flow through the valve and the valve high reliability performance. This paper is devoted to the development of an engineering program for calculating and analyzing the operation of an annular valve with several shut-off elements. Designed computer program allows analyzing ring valves operation with different number of operating components. The program provides complete information concerning the valve design. First of all, these are flow diagrams of shut-off members and pressure loss in the valves. For approbation of the developed program, a study was performed of the operation of the suction and discharge ring valve for various values of spring stiffness and maximum valve stroke. By varying these and other parameters, one can choose their rational values for each specific object under consideration.
