description The endometrial-like tissue has the ability to proliferate outside the uterine cavity and create great disturbances not only at the site of implantation, but also at the eutopic endometrium, partially on behalf of its functional capacity to respond to hormonal stimuli (exogenous, endogenous or local)8. Because of some overlaps with the rASRM score, the Enzian classification was revised (2010 and 2011) in order to optimize the system and to create a separate classification for DIE36. If the suspicion is histologically confirmed, the lesion is graded Enzian: A1 B0 C0. [...]this nomenclature allows a more accurate surgical planning and a suspicion over the involvement of retroperitoneal structures before the postoperative histological confirmation45. A completely non-functional pelvis with no reproductive potential would have a score of 0 + 0 = 0. Because pregnancy requires the functioning of all three segments (tube, fimbria and ovary) the lowest score of those three structures determines the ability of that side to function.
