Zusammenfassung:UNDER CONDITIONS IN WHICH FAILURE DURING TRAINING OCCURS, SPECIFIC ATTITUDES TOWARD TRAINING CAN BE USED TO SELECT THOSE WHO WILL MOST LIKELY SUCCEED FROM THOSE WHO FAIL. THIS IS ESPECIALLY TRUE FOR THOSE WHO VOLUNTARILY QUIT. FACTORS INVOLVED IN MEDICAL AND MISCELLANEOUS FAILURES MAY BE SEPARATE AND DISTINCT FROM THOSE ASSOCIATED WITH VOLUNTARILY DROPPING OUT AND MAY NOT BE DETECTABLE IN UNFAVORABLE ATTITUDES TOWARDS TRAINING. WHETHER THESE TRAINING ATTITUDES (CONFIDENCE AND CONCERN) WHICH ARE INVOLVED IN TRAINING SUCCESS ARE MAINTAINED AFTER GRADUATION AND ARE RELATED TO LATER JOB-PERFORMANCE IS NOT YET KNOWN. PERHAPS THESE TRAINING ATTITUDES ARE AN EARLY INDICATION OF WORKERS' LATER ATTITUDES TOWARDS THE JOB ITSELF WHICH MAY BE RELATED TO JOB-PERFORMANCE.
