Zusammenfassung: | A pilot survey on diversity of epilithic cyanobacteria in the Krkonose National Park was performed in six selected localities, mainly on limestone and granite. The localities differed in substrate, light and moisture conditions. A total of 53 morphospecies of cyanobacteria were found. The Strázné quarry was found to be the most species rich locality (38 taxa) known in the Czech Republic. Limestone substrates bear a diverse community of coloured coccoid types, dominated by the genus Gloeocapsa. Concerning the community composition, the limestones in the Krkonose Mountains do not differ markedly from other limestone localities in the Czech Republic, but their species richness is higher. On wet granite walls and stones near a small waterfall in Labský dul, rare filamentous species Stigonema informe and Stigonema minutum were found. [PUBLICATION ABSTRACT] |
