Zusammenfassung: | Two field experiments were conducted in 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 winter seasons at Agric. Exp. Res. Sta., Fac. Agric., Cairo Univ. to study the effect of three irrigation intervals (I : irrigation every 15 days, 1 I : irrigation every 25 days and I : irrigation every 35 days) and two foliar application treatments 2 3 (without application and zinc chelate foliar application with 0.5g/L) on seed yield and seed quality traits of two lupine varieties (Giza 1 and Giza 2). Significant variances due to irrigation intervals, varieties, zinc foliar application and their different interactions were detected for seed yield, their attributes and seed quality traits. Results of combined data across seasons revealed that irrigation treatment had detrimental effects on all yield attributes. Significant differences among irrigation intervals were recorded in seed yield, yield components and all seed quality traits. Irrigation every 25 days gave the highest seed yield (2.620 ton ha-1), germination 1 percentage (95.2%) and seed protein content (37.7%). The lupine varieties had also significant effect on seed yield, yield components and all seed quality traits. Giza 2 variety produced the greatest seed yield (1028 kg ha-1), germination percentage (95.1%) and seed protein content (35.6%). The results revealed that the 1 application of zinc (Zn) had significant effects on the plant height (82.5 cm), number of branches plant-1 (4.31), 1 number of pods plant-1 (10.94), seed yield plant-1 (11.86 g), seed yield ha-1 (2.413 ton) , 100 seed weight 1 11 (41.1 g), germination percentage (93.1%) and seed protein content (35.1%). It could be concluded from this study that sowing Giza 2 variety and irrigation every 25 days with zinc foliar application gave the greatest seed yield and seed quality traits. |
