description One of the main functions of universities is to transform social reality through their academic courses. Entrepreneurs are seen as economic and social transformation agents as their field of work involves considering aspects such as innovation, creativity, problem-solving, job creation, invention, leadership, and culture, among others. Therefore, the goal of this research is to analyze the entrepreneurial potential of higher education students in order to answer the guiding question of this work: Could experiential learning-based teaching and learning activities, along with design thinking techniques, increase undergraduate students’ entrepreneurial potential? Results indicate that students entering higher education programs show gaps towards their entrepreneurial potential, which can be bridged by universities through training and learning processes.
