Development of excitatory backward associations during the establishment of forward associations in a delayed conditional discrimination by pigeons

Three experiments involving conditional discriminations with differential outcomes demonstrated the development of excitatory backward associations in pigeons. The research concerning the presentation of an unconditioned stimulus followed by a neutral stimulus is discussed.
