Zusammenfassung: | The NAACP played a significant role in the US civil rights movement. Founded in 1909, the NAACP took on the task of securing the civil rights of US citizens as guaranteed in the Fourteenth and Fifteenth Amendments of the US Constitution. The NAACP was able to adapt to the various changes that took place in US society during the years it struggled for the attainment of civil rights in the country, which culminated in the enactment of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. |
