A new correlation for the prediction of kinematic viscosities of biodiesel + higher alcohols blends at atmospheric pressure

Zusammenfassung: | This work presents a new equation for the correlation of the kinematic viscosity of biodiesel + alcohol mixtures. This equation is an improvement of the Krisnangkura et al. correlation since the new correlation considers minima in the viscosity-composition behavior. The new equation correlates the kinematic viscosity of biodiesel + higher alcohols (>C4) blends with an average absolute percentage deviation of 2.359%. Also, we have tested the correlative capability of these models with those reported in literature for biodiesel mixtures such as the Kendall-Monroe, Bingham, Grunberg-Nissan, and Moradi et al. models. The new equation correlates the kinematic viscosity better than these models. |
