Zusammenfassung: | Concerned that the corrected Berry et al. measure could produce fundamentally different results concerning intrastate ideological change (one of our primary interests in the paper), we re-analyzed these data to reconsider hypotheses concerning linear, curvilinear, or cyclic patterns of changes in political ideology at the state level. Nothing in the revised results for Table 3 changes the nature of our criticism, or alters our conviction that citizen ideology varies across states and over time, in ways that are relevant to our understanding of policy choices made at the subnational level. |
