State Aid - Way to Stimulate the Development of Rural Tourism

Tourism is an important tool in the development of the global economy. According to the level of country development, its geographical location and other factors, some forms of tourism are more developed than others. The rural tourism is one of the most popular forms of tourism in Republic of Moldova. This form of tourism has a positive impact on the national economy especially on the rural one via creating jobs and attracting foreign investments etc.. In rural areas, in Moldova, there are meaningful cultural heritage and traditions by promoting agricultural activities that do have a significant impact for tourism development. But in this sector there are certain issues that do have a negative impact upon the development of rural tourism. The state intervention of providing a state aid measures to the business environment via providing external funds are the best solution for mentioned problems. Some state members of EU had already implemented such kind of measures for rural tourism development. In this way, Republic of Moldova has to follow the best international practices in order to develop tourism, especially rural tourism.
