The Marginal Cost of Redistribution: Lifetime and Annual Perspectives

Approximately 40% of the Federal government's expenditures are spent on redistributing income from high income households to low income households. A study calculated the annual and lifetime marginal costs of redistribution using a lifetime dynamic labor supply model.
