Spontaneous Assembly of Soda Straws

This paper describes simple methods for demonstrating spontaneous assembly of visible particles to illustrate topics such as the thermodynamics of crystallization. The assembling units are polymer tubes--portions of soda straws or connector bonds from certain chemistry model kits--floated on water.
