Update: West Nile–Like Viral Encephalitis—New York, 1999
An update is presented of the West Nile-like human arborviral encephalitis outbreak in the northeastern United States. As of Oct. 5, the number of laboratory-positive cases had increased to 50 (27 confirmed and 23 probable) including five deaths.
