Zusammenfassung: | Steinberg and colleagues reassesses the first year of presidency of US President Donald Trump. They explore the editorials on the surging popularity of Trump leading up to the 2016 US presidential election. Banu Gökariksel and Sara Smith find that masculinist politics identified in their original editorial continued unabated. Sam Page and Jason Dittmer acknowledge that they were wrong in predicting the defeat of Trump. They noted that the most optimistic contribution to the intervention set is by Alan Ingram who stresses that the damages done by populist movements in both the US during the Trump election and the UK during the Brexit referendum have been limited by forces that limit their leaders' efficacy. |
