Calmodulin Activation of the Ca(2plus) Pump Revealed by Flourescent Chelator Dyes in Human Red Blood Cell Ghosts

Calcium2 ion transport in red blood cell ghosts was monitored with fura2 or quin2 incorporated as the free acid during resealing. Calcium2 ion transport over the nanomolar range in red cell ghosts is described.
