description A 2nd update of an ongoing study, begun 14 years ago, of the affiliation of authors publishing in transportation and logistics journals is presented. The journals selected are concerned primarily with the managerial, financial, economic, marketing, regulatory, and policy aspects of transportation and logistics. Two questions are addressed: 1. What are the relative contributions to transportation and logistics journals by authors from various affiliations? 2. Which schools' faculties are most productive in terms of the number of articles published in academic journals specializing in transportation and logistics? The 1986-1991 time period is covered and the findings of this period are compared with 3 earlier time periods. The 6-year period was used to be consistent with the length of the time periods used in the first 2 studies. The contributions by academic writers are examined further to determine the relative productivity of individual university faculties and to ascertain the academic homes of the authors.
