Abrupt increase in Greenland snow accumulation at the end of the Younger Dryas event

Data from a Greenland ice core show that snow accumulation doubled rapidly from the Younger Dryas event to the Preboreal interval, possibly in 1-3 years. The implications of the rapidity of these changes are discussed.
