Music and Urban Geography

[...] hip-hop artists communicated aspects of the lived experience of the (minority) inner city with this musical representation of its pleasures, fears, and sublime contradictions. Perhaps one way to bring together the urban ethos and the design-intensive city would be to study how the presence of large, often Frank Gehry-designed, performance halls in American inner cities shape our experience of classical music, socially and sonically.
