Zusammenfassung: | Many sites required to comply with OSHA's Process Safety Management standard (29 CFR 1910.119) must also comply with EPA's Risk Management Program (RMP - 40 CRF 68). The RMP rule was instituted to prevent accidental release of substances that can cause serious harm to the public and the environment and to mitigate the severity of releases that do occur. Any facility with more than a threshold quantity of a listed "regulated substance" in a single process must comply. All facilities must assess the worst-case release scenarios. After completing the hazards assessment and implementing the prevention and emergency response program, a plant must submit its registration and RMPlan (together) by June 21, 1999. |
