Brous focuses on the future of the Conservative Movement, specifically highlighting Judaism's spiritual message and the relevance of Torah in an American Jewish community that is increasingly characterized by indifference, preoccupied by material acquisition, and no longer looking to the synagogue for community or moral guidance. Rather than contribute to this prevailing cultural trend, it is critical and urgent for the Jewish community to take seriously its role in the unfolding global drama.
