Use of a Colored Rubber Glove as a Finger Tourniquet

The application and use of a safe finger tourniquet is important in hand surgery. The advantage of the rolled glove technique is that the digit is exsanguinated as the tourniquet is put in place. The use of a coloured glove greater than the subject's hand size is recommended to provide a safe adequate tourniquet pressure whilst avoiding the mistake of leaving it in place once the surgical procedure is finished.
