description | The work presents the applicability of the developed Diametric Faults system through industrial trail to understand the influence of different yarn spinning systems, yarn fineness and opening & cleaning system on yarn diametric unevenness and yarn faults. The Diametric Faults system measures the diametric yarn unevenness and classifies the faults of yarn based on their geometric dimensions. Detailed analysis of the yarn fault classes with additional information related to added volume on faults, fault length and frequency of yarn faults for different classes of yarn fault is also possible. The developed system combines the measurement of yarn imperfections and fault classification as one system. The Diametric Faults system proves to be an alternative practical solution to measure the yarn irregularity in terms of diametric unevenness along the yarn length, instead of existing most popular approach considering the variation in mass per unit length. Further, it is established that the results obtained from the proposed system, are also confirming the expected trends noticed with considered variances in a standard manufacturing process. |
