Zusammenfassung: | A physically feasible new hybrid geometry for gain improvement with wideband characteristics is designed and validated experimentally in a conical shaped dielectric resonator antenna (DRA). It comprises of one superstrate and one reflector, with simple slot coupling technique for excitation. The reflector beneath the ground plane mainly accountable for significant gain improvement (∼109%) by reducing the back radiation, whereas the superstrate dedicates for maintaining wideband (12.65%).
