Zusammenfassung: | Recent studies of astronomers published by Kathryn Clancy in the Journal of Geophysical Research: Planets, demonstrating an unwelcoming workplace for people of color and women in STEM fields, to raise awareness among men and leaders, and elicit calls for cultural change, are discussed. Which indicated that women astronomers of color and white women astronomers were reported feeling unsafe in the workplace which may associated with negatvive effects. Clancy's 2014 survey regarding the harassment and sexual assault experienced by women doing scientific fieldwork and while in the field. Ways on how to address harassment against women in the workplace include revamping legal processes, cultivating inclusivity through a campus climate surveys conducted to address the gaps in academic institutions and an effort to launch a grassroot organizations called Astronomy Allies to reduce risks. |
