Zusammenfassung: | An abstract of a study by Samson et al determining if history of major lower extremity (LE) injury is associated with subsequent non-contact LE injury occurrence is presented. There was not a significant difference in frequency of subsequent LE injuries based on history of major LE injury. A collegiate club sport population appears to suffer major injuries prior to participating in the collegiate level, that are then moderately associated with a greater frequency of subsequent LE injuries. Injury prevention intervention strategies may be warranted in this population, who may lack access to sports medicine care. |
