description The paper aims to examine the design and implementation model for Agile Manufacturing System (AMS). This paper contributes to the literature on AMS by identify the factors for adoption of AMS. Nevertheless, there is relatively little research on AMS and techniques that take into account the dynamic nature of manufacturing system. To address this gap, the paper firstly reviews systematically the introduction on AMS; secondly, it provides the various factors necessary to address question and implementation of AMS in industry; thirdly, it uses interpretive structural modeling and MICMAC analysis, to illustrate the designing and implementation of AMS and fourthly, highlights the influence of factors including, organizational structure, outsourcing, top management support, convertibility etc. Finally, this paper concludes with managerial implication and further research directions.
